I bought this for my 11 year old brother’s birthday. He knows almost everything about angling and fishing, but he admits to the few missing pieces which he knew this book would fill. His eyes lit up and almost popped out of his head when he took the wrapping paper off. He said there’s no other book one needs. This one covers it all. He’s always wanted it but never had the chance to get it. He’s well happy now, as am I.

Lots of great pictures , some useful information about technics, places to go and fish , I just felt that book lacked info about tackle maintenence, how to clean and reel when dropped in mud or water, not enough info on tying rigs , making your own boiles and ground bait . What to when your rod ferrels need mending , replacing and eye on your rod

I did enjoy this book it’s well laid out and illustrated and gives a good high level overview of various fishing types
Downside would be it’s hard to recommend as a book for anything in particular while interesting to read there’s not enough on any one type of fishing – and a couple of fishing types are maybe over represented eg the coverage of bass surf fishing in Ireland
Recommended overall to get a broad sense of fishing around the work and especially for knowledge hungry kids

This book is ideal for both beginners and experienced anglers of all ages

This book is full of information and fishing tips, great for expanding existing knowledge or for the complete novice. As with all DK books, there are plenty accompanying photos which makes tying lures or identifying fish a doddle. Money well spent.
