This is a great book! Anthony King is incredible and an amazing writer and teacher. I loved that this book covered all the basics of dance styles and dance history but also gave me so much practical advice and lessons. Most importantly, it gives real life practical advice on how to be a dancer and make it in the industry! There is also a great section of the book on health and fitness and how it relates to dance performance/nutrition. This is a brilliant book! I also purchased his other performance book and these two fit together perfectly. 5 stars!

There is no doubting Anthony King’s knowledge and wealth of experience on this subject… but then this has been his life’s passion. And it comes across. You cannot argue with his qualification for writing this. It’s not just a book on dancing, or the history of dance, or how to succeed, it’s loaded with all kinds of health, fitness, diet tips and how to maintain the tough physical lifestyle of the dancer. It also includes psychological aspects like how to deal with things like the audition process. Highly recommended. Detailed and informative. Great book!
