This book has an enormous selection of breeds, which any dog lover will enjoy looking over. However, a lot of breeds have very short descriptions. You will find that the more ‘well known’ breeds (bulldogs, border collies, German shepherds, Labrador etc) will have a page, sometimes two dedicated to them. As someone who knows a fair bit about dog breeds, I was a bit annoyed because I wanted to learn about the less known dog breeds. Nonetheless, if you don’t know much about breeds then it will be just fine!

Also, what I love about this book is that it gives you an overview of the biology of the dog such as its bone structure, respiratory, coat types, senses and whatnot. At the back of the book it gives you a care guide with tips on how to look after your dog in all stages of its life and a few tips at training.
