I find this journal useful to keep track of food/calorie intake. I know I could just jot down on a piece of paper but quite enjoy filling it in!

I am diabetic [type 2] and needed to bring my blood sugars down to an acceptable level and lose some weight in the process. I read about this diet and the results people had achieved in a very short time and decided it was worth trying so I bought the book and started the diet. This diet is roughtly 800 calories a day and sounded a bit daunting but I can honestly say I was never hungary on it despite having to give up some foods and drinks such as bread, alcolhol, potatoes and pasta as it is low on carbs and high on protein but it works and I lost 8 kgs in 12 weeks the maximum time for the diet and then it is up to you to change your eating habits to keep the weight off and control your blood sugars. I have kept the weight off and 18 months later have lost a further 2 kgs and brought my blood sugars down to a point where I have reveresed my diabetic status and sugars are in the normal range.

Easy to follow

A friend loaned me this book and I bought it myself after trying a couple of recipes. It has changed the way I think about food and, rather than feeling like a diet book, it has changed the way I eat and I feel healthier, have lost weight and am really enjoying all the new dishes I’m trying. The vegi chilli, frittata and granola are particular favourites along with the delicious curries. Thank you.

I’m doing the Fast 800 Keto diet and am also vegetarian and find there are plenty of recipes in this book to suit me as calories, carbs and protein are listed for most recipes.
