‘Another meticulously researched and stunningly written novel by a much-loved and highly accomplished author. I adored it!’ – Santa Montefiore
Piracy. Romance. Revenge. Across the seas of the seventeenth century, two seafarers are forced to fight for their lives. The sequel to The City of Tears, The Ghost Ship is the third novel in the Joubert Family Chronicles from bestselling author Kate Mosse.
The Barbary Coast, 1621. A mysterious vessel floats silently on the water – its hull splintered and its sails tattered and burnt. For months the Ghost Ship has hunted pirates to liberate enslaved prisoners. Now it – too – finds itself hunted.
But the ship’s crew hides a secret, and the stakes could not be higher. The bravest among them are not who they seem: if arrested, they will hang for their alleged crimes. Can they survive their journey and escape their fate?
A sweeping and epic love story, The Ghost Ship is a tale of adventure and buccaneering, love and revenge, stolen fortunes, piracy and hidden secrets on the high seas.

The Ghost Ship by Kate Mosse is the third book in the brilliant The Burning Chambers – The saga of the Reydon-Joubert family.
This series has just blown me away, from the first book to the lastest book. Kate Mosse always writes beautifully, with so much care and attention etc and you feel like you are a part of the book.
Kate Mosse is my go to author I always find all her books I have read Just excellent. Kate has done it again!

I loved the strong female characters!
Despite the progress in equality between gender & race, there are still battles to address & Kate Mosse fires the reader’s drive to keep fighting!

This third book was worth pre ordering. The three generations of the same family overcoming so many disasters. I think there could be a continuation as there’s certainly another story to be told. I’ve read all K.Mosse books, all ” can’t put down books ” all of them.

Loved this book. I am hoping there may be one more in this series to complete the story

It has been a while since the previous volume in this trilogy and perhaps this is reflected in the ‘incroyable’ nature of some of the plot twists. Nevertheless, an engaging read ‘though a rather ‘flat’ ending after the complexities of the previous stories.

I enjoyed the book , but hopefully there will be a 4th one, as the story is incomplete.
The South African connection has to still be competed.
So I will wait to hear how many that will be!
