    I know this book is for kids but i love how she wrote the characters and the world they lived in as if i was there too and got scared when they did and laugh when they did sound silly but great book to read heard to uni.

    The book came in good condition with no trouble. But after an extended use (used for an assignment) the first few pages came off.

    The cover and the design of the pages are very pretty. I don’t usually come across such detailed designs on pages.

    The story was quite enjoyable. I found myself liking more than expected and I would re-read it again. It is a very middle-grade type of story but I think even young adults with nostalgia for fantasy books will enjoy this story. It’s predictable but it has a lot of emotion in it which made up for the plot.

    Such a beautiful read. I was transported into the world of my inner child. In a healing and connected way. The journey was shocking, awe inspiring, frustrating, sad, lonely, scary but also so hear warming and precious. Hands down recommendation from this 45 year old she girl ????

    I enjoyed the book. Story line is not too complexed but has enough details to keep me going. Literature wise, I’m not a big reader, this book doesn’t stress me out.

    Isabella or Isa as she is known by in the book lives on an island called Joya with her cartographer father. Forbidden to leave her town of Gromera by the governor, Isa is desperate to discover the forbidden land surrounding Gromera just as her father use too. When Isa’s best friend Lupe wanders into the forbidden land Isa is first to volunteer in the search for her, equipped with her father’s cartography equipment and full of bravery.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Isa is young girl full of imagination and bravery. Her friendship with Lupe I found adorable because even though they were opposites they still both cared for each other. Both characters were lost in their own way. Isa from losing her brother and mother and Lupe because she was the governors daughter, a governor that brought strict rules to Gromera so wasn’t well liked within the town. Their friendship is strong even when they disagreed and you see that build and grow throughout the book. On her adventure in this book, Isabella is filled with strength and bravery and is a courageous friend that leads her friend to and from danger.
    I enjoyed the friendship between Pablo and Isa and even though it was fractured to begin with, Pablo didn’t have to stop and think of helping Isa on her adventures, he cared enough to put her first. I would have liked to see more character build up between them though.
    As a whole I did find this book slow to start of with but once I hit a certain part I just couldn’t put it down. The maps in this book showing Joya are absolutely beautiful and really gives the book a boost. This story is filled with magic and mythical creatures and I love the imagation and creativity that this book is filled with to bring the story to life. I feel there is some parts that could have been looked into more like the governor and why he was in Gromera and about the banished but overall it was a sweet book that I really enjoyed.
