In the commotion, Santa crash lands on the roof of nine-year-old Holly’s home causing an almighty Christmas lights explosion that blasts the reindeers to far-flung corners of the Earth. It’s up to Dave and Holly to fly round the world to rescue all the reindeers.
Can Holly and Dave get all the reindeers back to Santa to SAVE CHRISTMAS?

This book is to go on my kids stocking, I always like to get a book to go in there. I thought I would read a bit myself to see if it’s as funny as described. I found this a great book and I’m sure any kids will enjoy reading it. This arrived in perfect condition and is hard back. About average price for a book. Would recommend this as a great Christmas book that could be enjoyed all year around

I don’t know if the name Dave has always been funny or if it’s just over the past few years but here it is the perfect name for the newbie sleigh-puller. Big-hearted and desperate to do a good job, when he is thrown into the deep end with only Holly to help him, he steps up marvellously well to avert what would otherwise be the most awful crisis. As he finds the other reindeer, we get to see their individual characters – some of which are quite surprising – adding to the hilarity in an often quite surreal fashion, which will delight children picking this up.
Throughout the story, the writer’s text is wonderfully illustrated by his sister, Anita, making this a very appealing choice for readers in KS2. Although possibly aimed at more confident readers in Years 5 and 6, this would also make a wonderful shared bedtime read with those a year or two younger, with adults enjoying much of the humour too.

Lovely quality, brightly coloured, hard backed book. A great story which we are going to love reading over the Christmas period. We have a cat named Dave so the kids are going to love that there is now a reindeer named Dave too.

My 7 year old read this book with me as a run-up to Christmas and she loved it. She found it relatively easy enough to read, but did stumble on a couple of words. She enjoyed the story very much.
The quality of the book is excellent, with clear text that’s relatively large. The images are fun and my daughter laughed at a few of them. Overall, this is a great Christmas book that we’ll roll out each year – looking forward to reading it with my youngest in a couple of weeks.
