Stranger Things meets Point Horror in the first of a brilliant new series for readers aged 11+ from Yvette Fielding, British television’s first lady of the paranormal and presenter of Most Haunted.
When Clovis, Eve and Tom decide to play with a ouija board in an old abandoned house on Halloween, none of them foresees the horrors they’re about to unleash. What starts out as a bit of fun, soon transcends into something far more terrifying when a distressed and determined spirit follows them home. Before long the friends are caught up in a series of events beyond their wildest imaginings and their journey as ghost hunters begins . . .

Hi, I bought both Ghost Chronicles books for my 13 year old son after reading the enthusiastic reviews. However when I had a skim read it was quite clear that this is more suitable for a younger/less demanding reader. I really don’t think he would enjoy now. But the plot, characters etc. all sound like they would be worth a read for many.

I have read this book two time and love it hope there is more to come and think it should be made into a film

It is a very well written story with quite a few twists, turns or second guessing yourself bits!
I loved reading this and read it in a few days as couldn’t put it down! As an English teacher I love having books I can recommend to the kids and this is one! Already have the next one and desperately hoping she will write a third!

What another fantastic ghostly story from the queen of ghost hunting, Yvette Fielding. The start of this book sent shivery chills straight down my spine when the characters visit a derelict old house in the thick of Epping Forest. Anyone who has watched Most Haunted from the get go would be reminded of the adventurous investigations into Epping Forest and the creepy, edgy vibe that place emits. So from the very start we’re thrown into the deep end of all things creepy. I’m not even going to lie, I was definitely a little spooked! And that’s not just the story itself but the descriptive way Yvette Fielding writes. I felt I was a ghost alongside the three friends, travelling with them on their secret escapades to the house in the woods. I felt their fear, tension and excitement. I felt the chilly breeze coming through the trees and I felt the very same creepy and spooky vibe that the house that loomed ahead of them gave.
The characters all had very quirky personalities and each different in their own way. I also can help the uncanny likeliness of the three main characters to crew members of most haunted:
Eva – Yvette
Tom – Karl
Clovis – Glen.
Then there is Eva’s uncle Rufus, who is just his own very special character. His inventions are actually really good, and I do wonder if they could work in the real-world.. well some of them, some of them are little far out there.
This book was incredibly spooky! The storyline was definitely a whirlwind of ghostly encounters and spine tingling creepiness. It feels so real that you find it hard to separate the book and what you’re reading to you’re own reality (maybe that’s just me because I live with very mischievous poltergeist).
Kudos to Yvette Fielding! She’s a woman of many talents – from ghost hunting and podcasting to writing incredibly amazing stories. I can’t wait for another book in this series! The excitement is real!

Bought this as a present but it had a sticker across the cover which would have ruined it if I took it off for that reason I have marked it down.

what a good book. not just for kids but for adults also. I thought the story was great. It started provided just enough Information to get you hooked. every chapter then moved on with the story adding a little more suspense until the end when it explains what they went through and who and why.
very good. just purchased the 2nd book
