I liked this book. It was gripping. A happy ending. Kept my interest.

This book deals with a lot of emotional trauma. The main character is likeable and believable but haunted by his past .
It’s detail of the law and how the system works was an eye opener .
This book does not disappoint.

I loved the first book so when I saw the innocent one as a pre order I had to order it, good follow up story however it would have been good if the hair in the broach found could have been linked to Ben so there was finally justice for him as well overall a good sequel.

Just admit I thought it was Sebastian to start with, the child killer but then as you get further in your led to think maybe it’s the ex husband after all. Very good.

I loved this book. Have read the Guilty One and would be best if you did read that first to get to know the characters. Loved the character of Danny. Good story, easy reading, and a nice ending. Will definitely read more by this author.

This was a fantastic sequel to The Guilty One. It seamlessly picks up 10 years later, reintroducing a grown up Sebastian and his one-time lawyer Danny. Both seem to have moved on with their lives but events quickly spiral to bring them back together and to reveal the cracks in both their lives. As always the main characters are convincing and well-developed, and the research into the legal and police worlds is thorough and comprehensive. As a thriller it functioned really well, building pace and tension but with enough side plots to engage the reader in guessing how exactly everything is going to work out. The climax of the last few chapters is fantastic, I couldn’t put the book down as it really was not clear what was going to happen. The end, when it came, felt just right, a really satisfying and believable conclusion to the stories of Sebastian and Daniel. Lots to think about after reading this book – the successes and failings of the justice system, nature vs nurture, how much our childhood/trauma shapes us, the choices we make as adults – and I would definitely recommend you read it, now!
