The Kingkiller Chronicle Series 3 Books Collection Set by Patrick Rothfuss:
The Name of the Wind:
‘I have stolen princesses back from sleeping barrow kings. I burned down the town of Trebon. I have spent the night with Felurian and left with both my sanity and my life. I was expelled from the University at a younger age than most people are allowed in. I tread paths by moonlight that others fear to speak of during day. I have talked to Gods, loved women, and written songs that make the minstrels weep.
The Wise Man’s Fear:
Picking up the tale of Kvothe Kingkiller once again, we follow him into exile, into political intrigue, courtship, adventure, love and magic … and further along the path that has turned Kvothe, the mightiest magician of his age, a legend in his own time, into Kote, the unassuming pub landlord.
The Slow Regard of Silent Things:
The University, a renowned bastion of knowledge, attracts the brightest minds to unravel the mysteries of enlightened sciences like artificing and alchemy. Yet deep below its bustling halls lies a complex and cavernous maze of abandoned rooms and ancient passageways – and in the heart of it all lives Auri.Formerly a student at the University, now Auri spends her days tending the world around her. She has learned that some mysteries are best left settled and safe. No longer fooled by the sharp rationality so treasured by the University, Auri sees beyond the surface of things, into subtle dangers and hidden names.

A very entertaining yarn that I found compelling. It is well written but perhaps a touch long-winded at times. Note that although this set contains 3 books and the chronicle is intended as a trilogy, the final book, The Doors of Stone, has not been released (expected imminently) and the extra book in this set is a filler based on one of the minor characters in the chronicle. Highly recommended to those that enjoyed JRR Tolkien and/or Harry Potter.

I hope the recent book I have ordered will remedy this lack

About 50 pages in the first book are printed wrong, with the text cut off on either the inner or outer edge of the pages, and some strange blocks of ink on a few of the pages too. I was probably just unlucky with the batch as the other two books are fine, but it’s disappointing to have to buy a new copy of this one.

These books, they are amazing! I am actually glad I just read them now as I don’t think I could’ve waited so long for the final book as those that read them when they first came out. These are by all accounts one of the great books in the genre!

Patrick Rothfuss, absolutely fanatastic, beautiful writing and a pleasure to read. Take your time with it, beautifully written. A modern day classic for sure.

Fantastic story and writing. The 3rd book is not a continuation of the other 2 books. Its a separate story about a character from the other books. Be awara that this is not a complete trilogy and the writter has been promising the 3rd book for over a decade and still not released in 2022 May
