Beautifully presented and full of useful information, but not suitable for a beginner in my opinion. The projects are mainly for intermediate/advanced knitters. I was hoping it would be a step by step guide with projects to build your skills. It’s fails in that respect but I’m sure it will be a useful reference source in the future.

Very helpful and informative; I enjoyed the illustrative photographs.

Bought as a gift for a keen knitter. It is a very thorough and heavy book with plenty in there, even for experienced knitters. My mum loved it!

Fantastic book for people who want to knit, I found it very helpful.

This book-ledger!-has a wealth of beginners info, but it isn’t easy to follow for a complete beginner.
That said, do buy it because when you/I get the hang of basic knitting is has MASSES of exciting techniques.
It’s not for an absolute beginner though.

As a ‘returning beginner ‘ to knitting this book has easy to follow instructions about just about everything knitting related and a few nice patterns.

Great book for beginners

I’d already got the DK sewing book and love it so when I thought it’s time to go beyond knitting pearl or plain squares, I chose this knitting book and I’m not disappointed. So far, it’s every bit as good. Not just knitting instructions but it goes into types of needles and wool and their various properties. It’s helping me rediscover and love this age-old and creative method of fidgeting
which deserves to be revived in an anxious world. If you need to fidget, try knitting and create a jumper while you do so !!
