Raw and unflinching

This is a mother’s account of her daughter’s life

And of Katie Price and her turbulent rise to fame

The Sunday Times bestselling memoir from Amy Price.

Katie Price’s life has long been lived in the public eye, documented both by her own books, reality tv, and the tabloids. But what does this story look like from the inside?

While battling a terminal illness, Katie’s mother, Amy Price, has the last word in this honest and insightful memoir, where she reveals how her family’s past has shaped her daughter’s future.

The Last Word is the definitive story of how Katrina Amy Alexandria Alexis Infield became Katie Price. It documents how her life has been shaped by a tradition of strong women, by cycles of abuse which have been repeated through generations, and by the impact of fame and trauma on a close family unit.

The Last Word was Number 2 in the Sunday Times Hardback Non-Fiction bestseller list on Sunday 16th July.

This book was a true and very honest insight into the life of the Price family. I really feel for them all what an awful time they have had with the media, family they are meant to put their trust in, and in some instances, supposedly close friends. I loved how Amy wrote of how close her immediate family are and how they can always cherish that and support each other. I wish you and your family all the best. It was a very emotional read at times.

Amy you are an outstanding lady. I great lady. Your book showed great strength and dignity. You told your opinions with grace and empathy for all sides. I appreciate your devotion and your real guide to motherhood. When reading this I knew and understood that the role of a mummy never ends. It really is true from cradle to grave and you are the epitome of that. Unconditional love forever. Thank you for your support towards all your children and Kate and Harvey your devotion is amazing. I loved how you cleared everything up. Im so glad you received the new lung!!! You so deserved it!!

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and was surprised at how interesting it really was. Amy gave a balanced and honest viewpoint of everything in both hers and Katie’s life, which was refreshing to read. I enjoyed the family history and thought how lovely it will be for the Price family to read in years to come. As for what has happened to Katie – my heart goes out to her. In the past I’ve watched her reality TV shows and it was clear that something wasn’t right and she has been used a lot by both men and so-called “friends”. Anyone who has been in any sort of relationship with a narcissist will relate to Katie’s struggles. Narcs can make you feel like you’re going insane to the point of drowning in their drama and their plea of being the victim all the time. I hope she one day reads up about these types of people and realises that their behaviour is on them, not her.
This book is a heartfelt account of a mother’s love for her daughter (and both of her other children), and I really hope they all find peace and the future is brighter. The people who spread abuse online need to read this and take a good look at themselves and how far they can truly push someone to the brink, which in turn affects the whole family unit.
A recommended read which at certain points had me emotionally invested in their wellbeing, and I wish the Price family well. Amy and Katie’s bond is truly beautiful.

I couldn’t put this book down. Found it very interesting and didn’t want it to end. Even if your not a Katie Price fan it is a very good read.

Not so sure if it wasn’t a bit biased towards her daughter but still a good read

Really good insight into the lives of the Prices. I found Amy honest & open throughout, even questioning herself & her own decisions in life. Although they are a close family, Amy is quick to admit decisions Kate has made that she does not agree with & gives her justifications for them. I thought Amy was giving her honest opinions & her account of what happened as far as Kate’s exes are concerned. Makes you see how so many people exploited Kate at her lowest times in life. Loved that it wasn’t all about Kate & Amy gave a lot of her personal life details too. Personally, I would have liked some photos in the book as well but it didn’t detract from the book #TheLastWord #AmyPrice

Kate has been through so much and i can understand to some extent the walls she has put up due to the continued rejection and hurt shes faced, while its no secret she wanted to be famous and chose this life, this book also helps understand why she kept chasing things that didnt serve her. This book shows the other side of the horrible medie and lies of the headlines. Amy seems like a supportive caring parent and there is no doubt the family all care for one another. I truly hope Kate gets continued help and support. While ive always been a fan of hers in her previous years, i realised quickly that shes human and i just wish her well. I can relate to alot of amys words said about kate. I also think how kate was treated in the heat of her and petes break up was terrible. I think real people see through the headlines but unfortunately headlines are there to manipulate people. While i dont think kate is innocent or has been willing to take responsibility i do feel for the amount of crap shes gotten unfairly and she is undoubtedly a strong woman. I wish all the Prices well. Really insightful book
