This was a great book and a fun addition to Magiford. The only disparity is that it goes back on the timeline quite a bit to events before Kings Captive which throws you off the story in the beginning as it’s not expressly stated anywhere. Im very glad Killian crops up though!

Definitely loved this one so much (and yay she’s a redhead!) Jade and Connor are great characters and I can’t wait for their next book. I really like the story as well – great cosy investigation vibes – I love how they are learning to be like human police department honestly it’s just great. I couldn’t help myself I ended up reading this all on the day of release – no regrets

Lovely fun book! The world building is great.I adored the team and their quirks as well as Jade’s anxiety. The draco offspring seem interesting and I would love a book on how Considine has kept them sane all their years. especially Killian. I really liked all 3 indenties of Considine. Jade’s is a very endearing MC and I can’t wait to read the next book.

I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy this story as much as the other Magiford series but it has caught me. I didn’t like Considine to start with but his character has grown on me and I am sure I will end up loving him as much as Jade will. Looking forward to the next part now.

Jade, suffers from social anxiety issues which I can relate to, but It felt like we were stuck dealing with her issues a little too much at the beginning (and I couldn’t wait to get back to the hero, Conor/Considine), but as the story unfolds Jade becomes more endearing. I can’t wait to find out what happens next. It sounds like it will include an influx of Killian’s odd siblings. So it loses one star for a slight drag initially, but when they’re both interacting you can feel the friendship and bond growing between them. The hero is a complex ancient who sees the world from a jaded perspective – then along comes Jade a slayer who’s tired of killing – who wants to protect even vampires. Brilliant! A great addition to the Magiford universe.
