Love the books but the quality isn’t the best

Not a box set, little damage

I can’t believe I got 6 books for £12. That’s insanely good value!
I have only finished the first book so far, the writing is third person limited perspective (Clary’s) in the first book, but from what little I have read of the second, it changes to shifting perpectives in the later books.
The reading age is probably 12+ but the content is maybe for 15+. The story is set in a world where all supernatural things – from vampires, werewolves, faeries to angels, demons and warlocks – are real and have a society that has evolved around them. The actual plot though is mostly about relationships with friends, family and romantic interests, discovering your identity and growing into an adult… with a bit of fighting, magic, and mystery thrown in.
I think they are nice. I appreciate I am a bit old for them, but they aren’t cringy like some teenage fiction can be. Some of the characters could do with a little more depth, but then I have only read 1/6th of the content so far.

He has managed to read only one and a half of the books. It is the first time in my life I see he doesn’t finish a book! Que usually devours them! He doesn’t recommend the series to anyone. He gives it 2 stars because it is well written (good grammar) but one star or less to the story/plot. He won’t persevere with the rest of the series.

Excellent value for money with this box set. The case is flimsy and made of a thin card but still an excellent way to get the whole set cheap. The books are good. I’d been wanting to read them for a while. I really liked the first couple, they were full of new things and I liked how the characters were developing. The main character does become annoying after a while. She does t seem to learn and is really selfish. It’s hard reading books when you don’t like the character and kind of wish they would get injured except then you’d have to listen to their moaning for another chapter. Overall a good series. Some books are definitely better than others and there was a nice new set of characters introduced which helped add new life to the story. I wouldn’t re read them, but they are definitely worth a read. I found my enthusiasm did wear off by the end.

The books have a very beautiful cover design, they are of comfortable size, with thin covers, so they bend easily and are comfortable to read. They are light enough despite being quite thick. Reading experience is great!
The only minus is the very thin case, which arrived damaged. Do not expect it to be a proper “box” set. Some of the books have damaged corners but nothing to cry about in my case. Overall, very happy with my purchase!
