Loving this book , it’s one you can dip in and out of as the fancy takes you . There’s lots of info in it and I’m learning lots I hadn’t previously known. Excellent to have for yourself but would also make a fabulous gift for someone who loves music.

Decided to treat myself to this as an early Christmas present to read in the run up to the big day and I was glad I did. Really enjoyed the format of it which was both light hearted and informative. As a bit of a charts geek I really liked the listing of the top 10 and also info about the number 2 single.
Being in my early 50s the 1970s and 1980s sections were of special interest and brought back lots of childhood memories. There were a handful of errors I noticed in the book but these would probably have been missed by the majority of readers.
Overall, especially for the price, I really enjoyed it and it did prompt me to listen to the Top 40 again in December 2022 for the first time in many years.

I love the layout of this book. It lists the top ten for each Christmas and has a write up on every Christmas number one, along with a photo of each artist. I also like the chronological format, which walks us through the decades, from the 1950s to the present.
However, I am a sucker for accuracy (especially where trivia books are concerned) and accurate this book is not. I’ve only just started reading it and am only up to 1954 and have already spotted a glaring error.
For 1953, chart topper Frankie Laine gets cited as having ‘the honour of being the first British artist to claim a Christmas number one.’ Frankie Laine was American.
I don’t like having to double check stuff on Google while reading so I have little choice but to slash three stars from my review.

I have to admit, I bought this as I appear in in twice, but it’s a very interesting and well-written journal of the annual Christmas No.1 race in the UK.

Unfortunately by its nature there are pictures of Ladbaby within, but don’t let that put you off

I am enjoying reading this book as it gives a lot of good information ( some even I did not know ) and is presented very well.
Also, for myself, brings back a lot of Christmas memories.
I would recommend this book to all “ nostalgic “ people.

Really interesting book covering facts and data points about every Christmas number one in the charts (including listing the top ten singles of the Christmas week). I bought for a friend as a Christmas gift and as soon as I flicked through it I wish I had bought one for myself! Good price and value, I would recommend.
