Overall a good purchase, I would recommend it.
Minuses – 1) The author starts off with an attack on MBAs and a justification for the book. That is not necessary and doesn’t resonate well. I very nearly gave up on it for that reason, so skip the first chapter. 2) This is not anything like an MBA, which is fairly obvious, but I think the title is unnecessarily misleading and should be changed to ‘Shortcut to an MBA’ or something like that.
Pluses -1) The author has done an enormous amount of good research. 2) He covers a large amount of ground 3) He has some good insights on the topics he covers 4) The author narrates and it comes across really well. 5) There are ongoing online resources.
Overall a good purchase – I bought it on audio and kindle.

Still reading this book, so far well pleased packed with clear and easy to read facts , also like the way the writer is straight to the point in what’s needed and not according to the individuals level of knowledge and aspirations
Well done so far Josh Kaufman

The first 20% is just the guy talking about how the book is going to change your life and how everyone who has read it has been so much further ahead in the career because of it. I’d recommend skipping this bit.
After that though it does have some great content. In some cases it’s simply explaining what you may already know but in a way you’ve never thought about before. For example, different types of things you can sell may seem very obvious but it will covers these in much more granularity… It’s something about reading someone else describe these things which makes it a lot more clearer and lets you see it from every angle.
I generally quite happy with the book, just think he should’ve skipped on congratulating himself at the beginning. It would probably put off a lot of people.

First, let me just give the disclaimer that I already have an MBA from a well-known university (albeit not a “top tier” one), and this book was written to replace a traditional MBA for people who wouldn’t get their money’s worth out of it. That being said, I actually really liked this book.
In the meat of it, the book does a good job defining what a business is and how it functions. It introduces many key concepts and frameworks that would help any entrepreneur or manager build and run a successful business. Surprisingly, a hefty chunk of the book is dedicated to personal self-development. As far as self-help texts go, it’s a good one though.
A traditional MBA is expensive, old-fashioned, and unnecessary for all but a few select professions. Even I have to admit that most of what he says is true, but I don’t in any way regret getting my MBA. There are a few extra perks mixed into the traditional MBA that you can’t get in a book, including networking resources, public speaking and professional writing practice, and direct access to experts (professors).

Wanting to get exposure to the fundamentals of business, I bought this book. I found it generally quite good in its intent. I don’t particularly like the “pill-size” chapters, though they read very easily and are handy for reference, but I prefer longer chapters and more in-depth. I didn’t quite get the psychology bits, I wonder why they’re there, so I just skipped them. From a book with MBA in the title I would expect a more “academic” approach, but read the introduction and you will find out why this is not the case. Overall a good introduction to general business concepts

I was sceptical, the book was good and well written, but it is most useful if you want a basic level of business knowledge across a broad area. There are no particularly in-depth parts, the exception may be on the psychology chapters but I wish that detail would have been in the business side (of note, there are almost no quantitative aspects). Overall, I would recommend it

Excellent read to understand certain business aspects through a different lens. Well written and structured. Would recommend.
