This is a great little book, which certainly improved my appreciation of the subleties of the game. It covers lots of science from coefficients of friction to the Magnus Effect, all with asides and anecdotes and even a little maths. More spin or less ? Longer or shorter studs – and why ? Trevor Lipscombe has a good shot at answering lots of questions and will give you lots of raw material for post-game analysis over a pint of beer.
