A casual glance might give the impression that this is a basic guide to improving the pictures taken with your phone. It can be, but is also much more. I’ve been a keen photographer for many years and have always used conventional cameras but modern smartphone cameras have become so good that I have exchanged my Nikon for a decent phone camera. The phone won’t quite do everything the Nikon did of course, but it has other advantages – macro and low light photography are easy and the phone almost never fails to reproduce exactly what I see in front of me, so I can concentrate on composition instead of getting the exposure right. This book has encouraged me to think more about my composition and to adopt a fresh approach to my pictures. The chapters on editing detail the tools commonly found on a phone or tablet and are most informative, with excellent examples.

I ordered this book as a gift for someone and ended up reading it myself! It is full of practical information and helpful tips, which is all laid out in a very user-friendly way. Also really stunning imagery throughout. Definitely recommend!

This book was an instant purchase for me and honestly, it didn’t disappoint!

I love taking photos of my travels and family adventures and then sharing them across the various social media platforms for friends and family.

I’ve followed Mike on instagram and often been in awe of his skill to capture a moment. The opportunity to understand his process and hopefully improve my own photography is very exciting.

The book is well written and easy to follow and of course the pictures are just superb.

    Highly recommended.

I find that books on photography are often disappointing .
This is not one of them .
I am a long time photographer and wanted a book for a friend which would impart them with immediate useful information without tedious waffle .
This book does exactly that .
I have attached a photo of the contents page and one of the actual content .

A nicely presented book, but not much in the way of guidance on settings / lenses used etc. More about how good the authors own eye is for composition. I know there are so many smartphones that specific details on what settings to use are impossible, b ut things like exposure time / potrait mode / ultra wide lens etc would have been useful. Adding in the metadata from the shot would have at least allowed me to understand how he’d acheived the results.

I ordered Mike’s book in October and waited eagerly to read it.
I wasn’t disappointed. When it finally arrived a few weeks ago, I opened it straight away and started reading it over breakfast. This book gives you top notch tips and advice on just how to get the very best shot from your mobile phone, including how to edit your shots once captured.
Packed with useful information and really beautiful images to complement, what’s not to like ?
