Under the cover of an amusing story Jonasson has provided an insight into the ills of the modern world. His descriptions of food are amazing though!

Familiar Swedish locations (to start with & in some flashbacks),familiar style of characters & even to some extent the plot development (a visit to the Royal Palace) could with some books/authors make the reader feel a little repetatively let down, but here the unique charm of author Jonasson’s tale is just what we (this reader at least) wanted to find. It’s an interesting conundrum…McCall Smith, Christie even Fleming stick with their winning formula and the same characters – here in ‘The Prophet and the Idiot’ we have ‘The Style and The Formula’ but with a whole new set of fascinating -if off the wall- characters and situations. Great book and well worth waiting for my delivery which arrived about 12 hours ago…
