The Sunday Times bestseller

When Jeanie’s aunt gifts her the beloved Pumpkin Spice Café in the small town of Dream Harbor, Jeanie jumps at the chance for a fresh start away from her very dull desk job.

Logan is a local farmer who avoids Dream Harbor’s gossip at all costs. But Jeanie’s arrival disrupts Logan’s routine and he wants nothing to do with the irritatingly upbeat new girl, except that he finds himself inexplicably drawn to her.

Will Jeanie’s happy-go-lucky attitude win over the grumpy-but-gorgeous Logan, or has this city girl found the one person in town who won’t fall for her charm, or her pumpkin spice lattes…

The Pumpkin Spice Cafe is a cozy romantic novel for fans of Gilmore Girls, with a grumpy x sunshine dynamic, a small-town setting and a HEA guaranteed!

These marketing people sure know a thing or two about getting a book out there! And thank goodness, they have directed us to The Pumpkin Spice Cafe. This is the first in the Dream Harbour series, the next title due in Summer 2024 and hinted at, at the end of this novel.

The first thing to say is the obsession with Gilmore Girls. Look at the author’s name (a mash up of Lorelai Gilmore and the actress playing her perhaps??), the same quirky small town, the comical town’s meeting, a mayor who makes decisions based on his dreams, and the Pumpkin Spice Cafe serving a cup of delicious coffee and freshly baked goodies. It could be Stars Hollow. This will definitely appeal to fans of the programme and why not? There’s a reason why the show’s quirkiness appeals, especially in Autumn.

The plot is great. Jeanie inherits the Pumpkin Spice Cafe from her Aunt who has retired to the Caribbean, she meets handsome farmer Logan. Logan is struggling to love again after a disastrous marriage proposal that was turned down but is equally attracted to Jeanie. Throughout the book is a will they/won’t they scenario but peppered with lots of other details. A mystery at the cafe, sabotage, an apple festival. It is all going on here.

This reminded me very much of Sarah Morgan’s Puffin island series, the same likeable characters, a lovely setting and the promise of another romance on the horizon.

This was a lovely autumnal read, and I would say if you are a fan of The Gilmore Girls or just want a cosy Autumnal read, then this is definitely for you. I very much enjoyed this, and am already looking forward to the next book.

Was easy to fall in love with the main character, and get straight into the book, the beginning and middle of the book were strong with a great story line! The ending of the book went a little silly and lost the male character personality a bit, wasn’t as good as the rest of the book but I still enjoyed it! For a quick 99p kindle read it was definitely worth the purchase. I would Recommend this book

This took me a minute to get into, but I think that was just down to the fact that I was expecting a grump MMC and imo he certainly wasn’t grumpy. But once I got round he wasn’t really grumpy I did really enjoy it. It was so easy to read, I loved the side characters and I’m excited to read their books. Logan did annoy me a little at times because I just wanted to shake him and get him to talk to her instead of assuming everything, but I saw where he was coming from. I absolutely loved Jeanie from the beginning, she got stuck right in with a new place and I loved the friendships she made. I loved the relationship she had with her brother, I would have loved to have seen more of them together.
The slight mystery side to it was nice, I’m not huge on small town romances and I think having that helped me enjoy it more as I felt like there was more to the story. I liked that at times she didn’t just roll over from Logan and she did tell him how she felt. I really enjoyed this one in the end, very easy and quick to read and just the right pace. A perfect fall read.

The Pumpkin Spice Cafe is the perfect warm and cosy romance for autumn. It was released at the end of August and has been 99p on Amazon U.K. ever since which considering how much I enjoyed it is an absolute bargain!

Jeanie has inherited The Pumpkin Spice Cafe from her aunt Dot, who’s off on a Caribbean adventure, leaving Jeanie to find her own way in her new home. Following a week of strange noises at night, Jeanie bravely decides to confront the culprit. Only she comes face to face with the ruggedly handsome local farmer Logan. Despite Logan’s surly nature and Jeanie’s inability to stop talking, there is an instant attraction and the two keep finding themselves brought together to solve the mystery of who keeps sabotaging the cafe.

Jeanie becomes a valued member of the town and despite her obvious effort to make Dream Harbour her new home, Logan’s previous heartbreak keeps getting in the way of him declaring his feelings. This is probably the only part of this book that I didn’t enjoy. Whilst I understand this was all part of the story the back and forth of Logan changing his mind became a little tedious and immature.

As this is the first in a new series of standalones we are of course introduced to some side characters that will have their own books in the future. The next book will be The Bluebell Bookshop with the main trope being opposites attract which I cannot wait to read next summer!

Loved this from the first page, great characters & rooting for Jeanie from the start. It was great to read a book where two main characters were attracted to each other at once, rather than drawn out, will she, won’t she narrative. Loved it was set in a small town in autumn. I’m looking forward to 2nd & maybe 3rd book. Solid 4 stars with a bit of spicey romance ????

I read this over 2 days. It’s quite easy to read and is a small town, cute story about a woman trying to find herself by taking over a relative’s cafe. Odd things happen, and a farmer offers to help. They fall for eachother. The cover seems to hint at romance, but there is some erotica/sex scenes in the story that readers should be aware of beforehand if you’re not looking for that sort of thing. It almost ruins it a little, as I wasn’t expecting that, and it doesn’t really add anything to the story. It wasn’t a Halloween story, but definitely seasonal for autumn. A little bit of mystery included too. There’s a cat mentioned that is on the cover but it only features briefly. I figured out pretty early what was going on in the cafe, but the why behind it did take me by surprise.

I enjoyed this book, it was a simple and easy read.
Predictable but these types of books usually are let’s be honest.
Not your average chick lit – this had a bit of something extra thrown in too if you catch my drift.
If you’re looking for an easy read with a bit of spice then this is for you.
