The Pyramid Mind
£0.90
In The Pyramid Mind, Dr Vlad Beliavksy introduces his life-changing approach to organising the way we think. He breaks down our minds into six interconnected areas, each of which contributes to who we are and affects our mental and physical health, relationships and daily performance.
Combining pioneering research and insight with traditional therapeutic schools – including mindfulness and CBT – The Pyramid Mind will teach you how your mind really works. Vlad’s integrative approach reveals how to manage your thoughts, emotions, habits and memories; how to grow and become the person you would like to be; and how to enhance your confidence and sense of happiness.
Vlad Beliavsky, PhD, is a psychologist, philosopher and author. Born in Ukraine and educated in the UK, Vlad is the creator of the self-care method known as the Pyramid Model and the founder of Brightway journaling app. Since the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Vlad has enlisted in the Ukrainian army, where he also provides psychological support to his fellow troops.

Very timely and accessible book on the well-being practice presented by the author in his Pyramid Mind concept. Deeply rooted in mindfulness and self-awareness, the book suggests an eclectic, yet straightforward method of managing and mastering your skill of well-being through simple and practical activities, contributing to building resilience and self-reflection, as well as cultivating healthy habits. A huge compliment to the book is that the author has launched the journalling app “Brightways” to help you work through negative thought patterns, as well as feel more grounded and less anxious. I have recommended the book to numerous clients in order to support their therapeutic journey.

I enjoyed the way in which Vlad combined ideas from MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) with CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) and Mindfulness, along with personal stories, insights and very useful exercises to work through. A valuable contribution to personal wellbeing.

In his book Dr Beliavsky takes the time to explain both the background and theoretical basis of the practical advice that is presented. This is particularly useful for people like me who find it hard to just follow self-help guidance without an explanation of how or why it is expected to work. Dr Beliavsky also presents his approach clearly with the use of analogies which makes the content more approachable, especially from a male reader’s point of view, where the content covered in the book can otherwise be difficult to relate to. Overall a practical and engaging guide to maintaining good mental health.

Really enjoyed reading the book. I found the concept easy to understand and to put in practise. Author depicts our mind as the 6-parts pyramid and proposes easy-to-do activities that can help you in balancing them all together.
Was also interesting to know author’s experience as a soldier in the war in Ukraine, a true view from the first person on the battle for Kyiv and soldier’s feelings during it.

Absolutely loved the book which surprisingly appeared to be very easy to understand. The way Dr Beliavsky presents his theory and gives practical advices helped me to immediately put in practise his knowledge and experience.
With no doubt, can advice this book to everyone who wants to better understand the way our mind works and how to live in balance with it. It also covers the important topic of mind traumas and the ways they should be treated, smth that is still unfortunately stigmatized and poorly addressed in the society; Personally found it really enthralling, as never had a chance to dig deeper into the topic.
For those willing to go further, you can try author’s journalling app “Brightway”. I found it an easy and cool way to put book’s programme/theory in the daily practise.
