Aajonus’s first book was a little too New-Agey for my tastes. This, his 2nd book, is however OUTSTANDING. It contains numerous references to various scientific studies and reports, which I have seen referred to in New Scientist magazine among other sources. The previous book neglected this aspect to a certain extent.
The beginning and end of the book deal with the theory behind the diet, while the middle part deals with recipes and the like. All in all, I have to say, that I have tried numerous other diets out there(Vegetarianism, Raw Vegan, Hay Diet, Atkins, “balanced diet” etc.) but the Primal Diet is the only diet which actually restored my health(once I cut out the non-palaeolithic raw dairy element). This book is a must-read for anyone who is interested in improving their energy levels or in curing any serious health problems.

    Very informative book.
Explained a lot about real nutrition rather than the ones preached by the health service. I learned a lot about raw meat, eggs and Milk that has made me more convinced to go raw. I always thought the more water you drink the better, apparently not! Aajonus also backs himself up with personal experience, statistics and stories. Get This book if your serious about your health and others.

I purchased this book having started the raw-meat diet for experimental purposes. It is an interesting read but a bit discouraging as it goes to dietetic extreems. I could not accept all the author’s views but, figuratively speaking, among the dross was a few small nuggets of gold. The topics raised are not all referenced which I found frustrating. It is not a book which I could readily recommend and hence the 3 star rating.
