The Romance of Lust (The Complete Volumes 1 – 4) – A classic Victorian erotic, sex & pornographic novel

£0.50

The Romance of Lust, or Early Experiences is a Victorian erotic novel published anonymously in four volumes during the years 1873–1876 by William Lazenby. The novel is told in first person, and the protagonist of the novel is Charlie Roberts. Charlie possesses a large penis, much virility, and a seemingly insatiable sexual appetite. Charlie describes his sexual initiation as an adolescent — as he is “approaching fifteen”. He catalogs his sexual experiences including incest with his sisters Eliza and Mary, sex with his governesses, and his later sexual exploits with various male and female friends, and acquaintances. Besides incest, the book deals with a variety of sexual activities, including orgies, masturbation, lesbianism, flagellation, fellatio, cunnilingus, gay sex, anal sex, and double penetration. Taboo subjects such as homosexuality, incest, and pedophilia are common themes in the novel.

Totally unexpected, but more than I could handle that being said it is explicit and written well this is a Victorian story about a young boy growing up. The title says it all, it gets very near the mark sometimes too near, Each to their own bit to much for me.

Another Peeping Tom from the Victorian era. To sleep with your own siblings is enough to indicate he is an aethist and without any rules and regulatioons to follow, which would be boring, as it keeps one in line and disclipined. He constantly writes, during his triumph period, of having had someone to be “braying like a donkey” and I know he means he is as dumb as he could get and very devilish!!

As a lover of Victorian pornography I found this a real turn on.

Ok, I bought this out of curiosity, being a lover of history. And romance. And, er, spicier romance. But this was mildly amusing for the first few pages (I love Victorian slang) but quickly grew pretty tedious and I didn’t even finish it. Buy it if you are interested in writing Victorian parody porn. That would be a pretty small readership, I guess.

I found this book to be entertaining and a insight into Victorian lifestyle, but not erotic! Still worth a read, so give it a try!

Quite disappointed with this. As it is labelled as a classic book I expected it to be better written than it is. The erotic writing is at a very basic level and very crude. It would probably be okay for a teenager but as an adult who wants a good sexy read it is very poor.

This book is very explicit in its language and content but written in a way that is not as in your face and blatant as modern erotic literature. I would recommend it to anyone who wants ton read firstly, how some people thought with regard to sex in the Victorian/Edwardian era and secondly, if you enjoy reading about sex with no holds barred.

Very erotic but disgustingly large amounts of incest.
