Bought this for book for my son’s birthday and he absolutely loves it being a sports car freak. As it’s been in various rooms around the house I’ve picked it up on passing and though not a super supercar fan I appreciate the love of cars by others and how they work. So it’s come as a surprise to me that I’ve actually read the whole book! It’s so well written and interesting, historical and completely captivating! And I’m a 45 year old mum! Had to write a review to say this is a perfect Xmas gift or indeed at anytime of year!

Beautiful book. I bought it for my 8 year old but I keep finding my 23 year old and my husband pouring over it avidly. Every age in my family enjoys this book.

The history of super-cars is beautifully laid out and the major progressions all noted and explained. I really enjoy the in depth ‘Focus’ sections, detailing specific developments such as turbos, super chargers and twin over-head camshafts.
Overall a great book for everyone, from those with no knowledge about the workings of cars to automotive enthusiasts.
With historic pictures, great explanations and detailed analysis, I would thoroughly recommend this book.

I enjoyed this book. In my opinion, it’s worth it for people interested in sports cars and the technology behind them. Though I would have preferred it if the book had gone into more depth technically.

I brought this book because ive always had a fascination of cars and I wanted to know more about it but couldnt find the right book until I found this one. The design and overall quality of the book is outstanding there are very important people from the automotive industry that have had part in the making of the book which gives it more authenticity. The book itself starts way back from the first cars and how they worked as well as the advancements in technology that have made supercars into what they are today. Throughout the book there are many detailed images and descriptions of different car parts such as the 4 stroke engine and the visualisations really help with the understanding. This book has taught me a lot about cars and has changed the way I look at them completely and really helped appreciate the technology inside them. An absolute 10/10 for car lovers of even for people who arent interested in cars, it is still a very good read.

Something for everyone! I thought I knew a fair bit about cars, yet I’m learning and being entertained equally.
My mum could understand the technical parts! It’s written in a style like an old friend is explaining a new idea down in your favourite pub.
From new angles on the distant origins of the birth of ‘supercar’ concepts to the latest greatest machines that have transcended the vaguest wildest dreams of those first pioneers!
This is the book for anyone who has ever had any interest in what makes cars, supercars and dreams become reality!
