I love this book. This is an easy to read guide. I’ve made it compulsory reading for my staff and because it’s short and concise I know they can read it stress free (it’s not hours of heavy reading.) I’ve also recommended it to parents – non threatening and really helpful.
In a time poor world this is a vital resource.

I have a very traumatised foster son who sometimes baffles me with his behaviour. I am just beginning to understand why he behaves in this way. This book is a good way into this area and sets out ideas clearly and simply. Wish I’d found this when my little one came to me two years ago.

This is very quick read at just over 70 pages long. I really do think that anyone working with children or young people should give it a read. A lot of the suggestions seem like common sense however there were little bits that made me think yes everyone needs to know about this. small size so could easily fit into a brief case or handbag.

I am very grateful to Betsy for these easy to understand books that are a real asset to anyone working with children that need support. Her work provides an invaluable insight into why children who have or continue to suffer trauma, behave the way they do and how you can better understand the reason behind it and act in a way that benefits and supports these fragile little minds. Bought this book to learn a bit more about children I work with. I wasn’t disappointed ! It’s a great easy read book with lots of useful information. I bought a few books and this one was the best. I couldn’t actually put it down! Would definitely recommend.

informative and provides practical examples on what to use to help with children who had suffered a trauma. It seems a good help for parents/ educators but a starting point, not the only help. Unfortunately, I had to return it as it wasn’t what I needed for my trauma course
