- A family picture—Full-page, full-color pictures bring the Rabbit and Squirrel families to life—and there’s space for your child to add a drawing of their family, too!
- Open conversation—Use Sammy’s tale as a jumping-off point to connect with your child and discuss how their adoption made you a family.

We received our book today, it’s such a lovely way to explain to children about open adoption , beautifully written and illustrated. My daughter couldn’t wait for bedtime to read about sammy and his two families and the difference between them, explaining that’s Sammys feeling will change from happy to sad at times, I especially like the ending, I’m very happy I chose this book even though I’m not personally involved with the adoption process , I have been in a situation that this book has certainly helped with explaining my children’s recent history to them, all in all it’s a lovely heart warming story that any child or adult can enjoy.
