The Ultimate Guide to Differentiation: Achieving Excellence for All
£16.10£19.00 (-15%)
The Ultimate Guide to Differentiation demonstrates how teachers already differentiate much of the time, in subtle and creative ways. Sue Cowley shows that we need to understand, acknowledge and celebrate the variety of approaches that teachers already use to differentiate, as well as helping them to develop additional strategies. The book takes the reader through the different methods and approaches to differentiation, providing a step-by-step guide to each. It is broken down into five core areas – planning, resources, learners, teaching and assessment – and readers can dip in and out to find strategies as and when they need them.
Written in Sue’s much loved realistic, honest and practical style, The Ultimate Guide to Differentiation will help teachers, practitioners and support staff to feel confident that they are meeting the needs of every learner.

Excellent book especially for those new to the concept of differentiation.

There is nothing new here, and I’m a just-graduating trainee. The worst part is that it attempts to give advice from KS1-5, so a lot of it isn’t relevant unless you’re primary. The advice it gives is basic (you must know your students) and tells of things that are well-known techniques, like ‘teaching to the top’. If you’re a trainee at the start of your first placement at a primary school, I’m sure it would be very helpful. For everyone else, don’t bother.

An accessible, impacting text which empowers teachers in being secure in their professionalism and takes cognisance of bureaucracy and workload. Strategies to dip in and out of which are realistic. Empowers everyone in the classroom. Particular credit to the Assessment Chapter. An enjoyable read for me as a Headteacher wanting to ensure best outcomes for my cherished learners and families through providing the best, supportive frameworks and resources for my wonderful, dedicated team.
