I managed to drag myself through 2 books in this series but I will not be carrying on until the end as I just do not care about any of the characters or the world or anything.
These books are horribly written with all characters being horribly dumb and some being horrid and nasty for no reason.
The author was too lazy to write fight scenes and instead of descriptions of how people move, who got injured, how the struggle unfolded you get things like “He drew his sword and attacked. White Lotus closes bout the purple butterfly” and that’s it, the fight is over, What is that??
Romance, oh well if you want romance well read another book. People go from no knowing or caring about one another in one chapter to suddenly being infatuated with each other in the next, not explanations just “oh yeah, they are in love now”
world building is meh, I’m still not sure where things are or what the world is about and I honestly couldn’t care less.
I do not understand why people love this series so much, it’s not good and I am not going to drag myself though this rubbish just to fit into he crowd. I do not, will not and cannot recommend this series.
Don’t do it to yourself.

I’ve read these books probably 4-5 times and the physical books only the first time borrowed (e-books since). This is the first time I am owning my own copy and although I wanted the e-book covers one (extremely hard to find and costly), I settled for these new covers.
Pages are a bit thin but not deal-breaking.
What I was not happy with are chapters starting mid page instead of a fresh page. Again can somewhat deal with it.
But spotting some missing words and essentially a key paragraph being rephrased is just too much! Book 2 great hunt (pic 1) the start of the chapter has been rephrased! WHY? See comparison to start of book 3 the dragon reborn in pic 2. That’s some wording that any WoT fan will know by heart. It’s that epic.
I shudder to think if anything else may have been changed in the publishing/printing of these copies.

May seem like a little thing. I take pride in my books and even boxing the edge of this one is sad
Only thing I have to complain about is there are around 30 pages that are not in the spine of the second book and cut all wonky as you can see in the picture
As for the books themselves, I am blown away with the stories. I’ve never been so fascinated before.
If you are looking to read the book after the TV series as I have, you will not be disappointed, in fact, you’ll wind up engrossed in the story finding so many aspects of it that the series could not encorporate. And the TV series does do it a great deal of justice, which is really nice to find. It’s rare when a movie or TV series are so well paired
For the story and author 10/10. I don’t even want to return the book because I need to finish it now I have started. Then my OCD will kick in and I’ll buy a replacement 😀
Thanks for reading

Love the book but it arrived damaged. Package was fine. One book cover ripped and one corner folded. Care not taken while packaging I suspect. I don’t want to send it back because I can still read it but not what you expect from a brand new book.
Partial refund would be great.

A series I read many years back and lost in a move. With it coming onto Amazon Prime Video it reminded me how much I enjoyed the series. My 14 year old daughter, who I bought them for, loves them too.

The books arrived really quickly and in excellent condition. I’m loving this series.

Years ago I foolishly lent my copies of these books to a friend, and never got them back. I liked these new bindings, so decided to replace them. The idea of a box set was nice, so I ordered those.
Bearing in mind that the paperbacks are £7 each, the price is about right (slightly more, about 45p, for set 1, £1.01 less for set 2, £5.39 more for set 3). I didn’t mind paying slightly more for the fancy box.
However, the boxes are not fancy. They are nicely printed, and attractive, but very thin cardboard, only slightly thicker than a cereal packet. Mine came in good condition, but I can see how others have received damaged versions. The illustration suggests that they would be much sturdier or thicker than that.
Books 2 and 3 have the annoying “Now a major new series on Amazon Prime” logo on the front, but thankfully books 1, 4, 5, and 6 don’t (this is one of my pet hates).
They have changed the internal layout, presumably to reduce page count and standardise the thickness of the books (unlike my original set which got thicker as they went along, these are all roughly the same) by continuing the following chapter directly after the last sentence of the previous, rather than starting a new page. I don’t have a problem with that but some might.
I’ve flicked through and haven’t noticed any of the missing pages or text being cut off as in some photographs.
