Still very entertaining and interesting. It gives an idea of what it must have been like to live through WW2 on the Home Front, but not as educational as other Titles in the series, eg Terrible Tudors (which is brilliant). There is nothing about the battles or the various campaigns (probably because these would not be suitable for a humorous treatment) and it focusses on life in Britain (rationing, evacuation etc). Still a very enjoyable CD, entertaining for whole family.

Grandson really enjoys reading this book.

I bought this for my 9 year old son who was learning about World War 2 at school. He has struggled in the past with reading the HH books, but the cd versions are great. He listens to this whilst building lego and has retained a lot of the facts. I think I paid around £3.50 and it was well worth the money. He also enjoyed the one about World War 1.

These are fantastic history stories….gripping, entertaining and full of info to captivate young minds. My son drifts off to sleep listening to these every night. A real winner as the books are just a little too tricky for him so the CD captures his imagination and although we still read together it takes him on to more challenging stories and is providing him with the love for reading and interesting plots. Also great for putting on to the ipod for time filling moments.
Can’t recommend highly enough!

Bought as requested for 6 yr old who is reading it to himself and thoroughly enjoying it! All the books in this series do a great job of bringing the past to life, especially for young boys who enjoy reading about blood, guts and gore.

I think Terry Deary books are absoulutely brilliant no spell-binding superb! I have grown so interested in this book that i read it in one day . But their is one problem that annoys me .This book is more about the Nazis .It doesnt annoy me too much but i wish that their would be more of the allies also it frightened me that u r saying their will be a world war 3 !Then i realised that you were joking .I think this book should be for 8 -12 years! Thank you Terry for bringing such a wonderful book into the world! Also can u make a new book or episode on Horrible Histories about 1970s to 1990s? Thank you !#HORRIBLE HISTORIES RULE!!!
