£5.70
He’s my best friend’s brother.
My new boss.
And now my fake husband.
Knight Warren. The country’s most sought-after heartthrob, and retired military vet, is my complete opposite.
He’s grumpy where I’m sunshine.
Surly where I’m… happy go lucky.
He’s the hardened ex-soldier.
I’m still trying to find my calling.
The only thing we have in common is that we both love his sister…
…who’s also my best friend.
So when she asks me to help Knight find a wife I can’t say no.
Turns out he’ll inherit his father’s empire as long as…
… he gets married within the next month.
I agree to work as his assistant and interview the women who apply for the position.
But Knight hates every one of them.
With the deadline drawing close, he proposes I marry him.
In return, he’ll pay off my debts and take care of my mother’s medical treatment.
Only he has conditions-
I need to pretend I belong to him, be in a fake marriage with him,
… for an entire year!
But what happens when the chemistry between us ignites?
Forced to live under his roof I know I’m falling for him.
As the days pass I begin to think he reciprocates my feelings.
Until he introduces me to his real wife…
This is a billionaire, forced proximity, one-bed, boss-employee, fake relationship, and a best friend’s brother novel. It is a complete standalone.

I really enjoyed Knight and Penny’s story. it was so heartbreaking in some places and oh so spicy!
Penny and Knight were absolutely made for each other. what Knight went through was awful, and Penny was so understanding even when Knight was a massive alphahole!!
The narrators brought the story to life so well that I was hooked!! Shane East has the perfect voice for any story ???? that man could read the back of a cereal box, and I’d be happy to listen!

Loved the spice and the characters. Interesting plot story, felt bad for penny as she just wanted love and finally got it in the end. Easy read some errors but nothing too wild

Really enjoyed this book.. don’t usually review but I think Knight is now my favourite book boyfriend. God he was just perfect… mixed up, fierce, strong, gorgeous and obviously unbelievable in bed!! Fantastic MMC. As for Penny well she was a perfect FMC . I found her so relatable . Just loved the book. Well worth reading????

Excellent book, sorry when I finished it.
Knight was a survivor who had been held a prisoner for 6 months, tortured, escaped and arrived back a changed man full of horrors. Abbey is sister was very worried about him as he was isolating himself from family and friends, he is the CEO of the company his father, the chairman of the company since Knight’s return, knight wanted to run the business, that he had already improved, without interference from his father. His sister was trying to help her brother who was working nearly 24/7 by asking her best friend if she would be his personal assistant, both Knight and Penny hated the idea, that’s when the real story started. Another exciting drama, full of fighting, secrets, heartache and recovery.
L Steele/ The Wrong wife.

Another great read in this series of interconnected friends and family. The moody damaged ex marine finds his nemesis in a curvy chatterbox and their lives will never be the same.

This was ok, I finished it and enjoyed some of the storyline. I just didn’t really like the MFC, she was spineless and weak. She really was quite pathetic and this starts to grate on you as you progress through the book. The world building isn’t great especially as there are many spin off books. These characters don’t really feature at all. Saying this I will probably try one of the other books hoping that the MFC in those is more likeable.

Where do I start? L Steele is one of my favourite authors and has done it again, I love her style of writing. You can feel all the emotions written on the page. I had so many emotions whilst reading this book, from sadness, anger, frustration there’s so many times I wanted to jump in my kindle and give penny a shake. Penny is such a lovely character but at times the way knight treated her and she let him, left me frustrated, he had his own demons to contend with, going through the book we can start to understand his behaviour. If you love spice then this is also the book for you. I also love the little twist at the end..Would definately recommend reading this book.
