I think this would be a fantastic book for someone just starting out but not for the experienced or pro. Yes for everyone there are points in here that would make you think but with a bit of experience many come. I think many of these thoughts you could find on blogs, valuable but not sure it’s a worthy purchase for all.

Nice book, easy to read with short chapters and lovely photos. Very useful tips and hints on how to get into street photography.

Lets be clear:the book is OK. You can learn good tips and tricks about street photography. There are some really good images in the book, but most of them are very bland. And you are left thinking, “Is that it?” And that doesn’t inspire confidence in the text.
I guess Matt has not put his best pictures in the book. Maybe my idea of street photography is different from his, but I enjoy more the photos from people like Alex Webb, Trent Parke, and others. Photos that can leap off the page.
Anyway, things are still early. I have more to know about Matts work. He seems like a nice chap and I heard of him through watching a Joel Meyerowitz video on YouTube.
If you are new to photography this is a worthy purchase.

This is a fantastic book. It would be fantastic for the images alone, then add in the amazing production quality and finally pour in a bucket full of wisdom and advice. Buy this book. It’s a no brainer.

Some great tips. Also a good insight into what street photography is all about for each individual person. Don’t follow do what you do best and enjoy.

Really enjoyed the book, has lots of practical advice about getting into and getting the best out of Street photography, along with some high quality photo prints. Easy to pick up and not too heavy with text.

Making work on the streets is all about the positive headspace you put yourself in and Matt does just that with this book.
Like many creatives out there, reading isn’t one of my strengths, but this delivers bite sizes inspiration and thoughts in just the right way. Combining Matts witty and often funny observations at life, with his thoughts, makes this book a winner for any ‘street photographer’ out there.
Personally, this reminds me of preloading on a CKY skate video from back in the day before heading out and trying new tricks on a skate session!
Grab some inspiration, get fired up and make that next frame!

This book gives some very interesting examples of Street Photography with some great colour image ideas demonstrating good use of ambient light. The author, Matt Stuart, has really included some images that someone like me, who is taking his first steps in this genre, shows me to photographic situations that I would never have even given a second look and, furthermore encourages, me to, as the title says, ‘Think Like a Street Photographer’. My advice to anyone wishing to engage in Street Photography would be just to buy the book and benefit from its inspiration. AJL.
