Lovely Christmas story. Easy to read, all in one go. Great believable characters, each with their own very different views on how to react to life’s ups and downs. Could easily make a Christmas film.

We carry past with us like rose a time of year brings this back but by chance things happen one cottage to change this a mistake with booking two worlds collide each need. To move forward and find inner peace at a special time of year seemed two dogs help and a lot of snow which slowly melts the past away

First book I have read by this author,
On the whole I enjoyed the story of two people getting away for Christmas on their own to try to come to terms with their own heartache . I thought this sounds like a good book,
But a few chapters in the middle I found but too drAwn out, but I kept reading because I wanted to know how or if they were going to solve their different issues.
So happy I kept reading, although the ending Was a surprise, I think it was too rushed. And definitely needed an epilogue to get 5stars.
may be sequel would be good idea.????????????????

I just loved this book and read it over two days. It’s crying out to be made into a film. Perfect Christmas escapism and we can all do with a bit of that just now.

A truly comforting read; it’s probably true to say that most of us know the feelings of guilt or fear or shame, whatever the cause, and how someone’s kindness can mean the world. And when set against a wintry Donegal backdrop, those of Rose and Charlie are made all the more vivid and true to life with delightful ‘someone you know’ supporting characters. Grab a blanket, a cup of something hot and settle in for a hug in a book.
