Having got the special on DVD I was very pleased to have this in my collection and it didn’t disappoint. In this special anniversary book Thomas is taking the Fat Controller to London to receive a special award form the Queen but gets lost. And when he rescues a very important engine called Duchess of Loughborough it turns out she is the Royal Engine and Thomas is rewarded for helping a engine in need. The front cover of the book has lovely image of Thomas and new friend Duchess in the style of the classic books and inside the book has stills from the special anniversary episode overall a great book and a must have for all Thomas fans.

My grandson Thomas has most of the Thomas and Friends stories, some of those being originals going back to those his Uncle had when he was a toddler and they never fail to delight. The simplicity of the story, how Thomas always wins through in the end makes reading them to my Thomas a pleasure for me. We read lots of other stories from other authors but always come back to Thomas. A great addition to the collection.
