A beautifully crafted graphic novel adaptation of Harper Lee’s beloved American classic, voted the #1 Great American Read 2018.
‘Shoot all the bluejays you want, if you can hit ‘em, but remember it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird.’
A haunting portrait of race and class, innocence and injustice, hypocrisy and heroism, tradition and transformation in the Deep South of the 1930s, Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird remains as important today as it was upon its initial publication in 1960, during the turbulent years of the Civil Rights movement.
Now, this most beloved and acclaimed novel is reborn for a new age as a gorgeous graphic novel. Scout, Jem, Boo Radley, Atticus Finch and the small town of Maycomb, Alabama, are all captured in vivid and moving illustrations by artist Fred Fordham.
Enduring in vision, Harper Lee’s timeless novel illuminates the complexities of human nature and the depths of the human heart with humour, unwavering honesty and a tender, nostalgic beauty. Lifetime admirers and new readers alike will be touched by this special visual edition.

I love this. Not only does it stay faithful to the book, it also captures the wonderful mood created by the film. That is a remarkable achievement and makes this a book that will appeal to every fan of th story.

Loved this! Very well done, using parts of the original text. Worked really well.

My nine year old daughter has just gotten into graphic novels, when I spotted this. I wasn’t sure if some of you subject matter would be particularly suitable for her, but she lapped this up in no time at all and showed great maturity and understanding of some hard hitting themes.
The artwork itself is gorgeous throughout and totally nails the the almost dreamy naivety of the memories of our beloved narrator, Scout.
This is one book that I know will take pride of place on my daughter’s shelf.

I do love a graphic novel. This is a beautifully illustrated version of the great classic. I would never have sat and read the original but this version is so captivating and well-paced that it had to be read in one sitting.

This book is great if anyone especially kids get bogged down and don’t want to read page after page of just writing it is written like a comic strip but doesn’t take away from the story, also great for visual learners.

Bought this for my 10-year old for who English is their third language (yes, I know I’m showing off a bit). She enjoyed it so much she wants to read the proper book and watch the film (in that order).
If you’re thinking that To Kill a Mocking Bird has themes inappropriate for a 10 year old, then you may be wrong. We found suitable ways to explain everything in an age-suitable way. Also, there is no age limit for emphasizing to someone that racism = bad.
