As ever I downloaded this to kindle straight away and the formatting is perfect, with pictures displayed etc.
I really appreciated the notes on what could be prepped ahead etc, though I might need a bigger fridge!
The format is based around several menus for dining with family and friends, but I can already see recipes I would like to cook just for everyday (just not the full menu).
There are also options for vegan/vegetarian alternatives which is a nice touch. (I really like the look of the vegetarian option for the roast dinner). The roast dinner menu took me straight back to childhood, as my Gran used to roast several joints at the same time for a special occasion, I am so going to do this to surprise my siblings!
I definitely want to try the Curry night and Tex Mex first, and particularly the ice creams sound amazing. Mango in pistachio dust and a chocolate semi fredo with rice pudding as an ingredient!
The summer pudding with cucumber Pimms and ginger beer sounds interesting, just wish it was back in June to try it at its best. I will come back and edit when I have tried out some of the recipes.

This is a good book full of inspiring ideas. Some of these may have come from previous Jamie books, I’m not sure as I’ve not bought one of his for a few years. There are some negative reviews on here which at first made me sceptical about buying it. However, I’m glad i did buy it as it has many good recipes and ideas.
Unless you are a very accomplished chef/cook then i would think you would find this a good book with some useful ideas.
The ingredients and methods are clear and after all recipes are a guide, be a little adventurous, and add or take away ingredients as you think might work. Food is not life or death, keep it simple as Jamie does!

???? ‘TOGETHER ~ a joyous celebration of incredible food to share.’

From the back cover (image below refers):
???? ‘More than 120 exciting and easy-to-follow recipes ~ TOGETHER will help you create incredible meals to share with the people you love.’
The current stock images + ‘LOOK INSIDE’ facility above give an idea of the layout.
Although this book has been kept under ‘wraps’ until the big release day (in terms of reviewing), I have already tried a good few recipes that have been aired in the weekend colour supplements. These did make me expect more vibrancy than that in the book, now it is in hand, but that is the norm these days.
My favourite recipe to date so far, tried & tasted over the rather dull late summer Bank Holiday here in the UK is…’CRISPY PESTO CHICKEN’ (serving 6), pages 144 & 145 complete with a ‘VEGGIE LOVE’ swap. ‘SILKY WHITE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE’ (serving 4), on pages 202 & 203, benefits from a ‘VEGAN LOVE’ swap.

With accompanying photography (some on-location) from DAVID LOFTUS, LEVON BISS & PAUL STUART, clear list/s of INGREDIENTS + detailed instructions, nothing gets missed…e.g. an opening note to each recipe along with advice on how to ‘GET AHEAD’, tweaks/alternatives, serving suggestions, along with the all-important nutritional value etc. given for all recipes in a table at the back of the book.
Occasionally, additional advice is given, e.g. ‘ASK YOUR BUTCHER’, in ‘SLOW-ROASTED LAMB’, which runs from page 162 to 165, with other handy tips dotted around, such as ‘LOVE YOUR LEFTOVERS’.
The usual JO ‘THANK YOU’ is at the back just ahead of the alphabetical INDEX, which is in a relatively small print (to my eye).

Quite different to Jamie Oliver’s recent books, but definitely a worthwhile addition to my bookshelf. There’s a focus on the practical side of cooking for bigger groups in this book, tips for how/what to prep ahead so that you can enjoy being together with your guests.
So far, I’ve made the tangerine dream cake and the beef bourguignon (pictured), which were both spectacular! Really easy to follow recipes with delicious results. And although geared around entertaining, there are still plenty of dishes in here for more ‘everyday’ dining too.

Easy to understand and good layout. Lots of recipes to test out. As always Jamie makes cooking look easy.

I wanted to purchase the book while watching the TV show, then I started reading the reviews and tbh it stopped me purchasing initially due to people saying it was a lazy book for the author as you have to scroll through the recipes to find ingredients! Do not take any notice of these reviews, all recipes have a list of ingredients as normal and the smaller recipes (whilst not having a separate list, have all ingredients required underlined).
Am not normally a big Jamie Oliver recipe fan but this big is great for get togethers (as the name implies) and I for one would love an invite to Jamie’s House to sample the delights in this book!!
