Q: Who wants their FIVE STAR funny story included in Oakfield School’s story book?
A: EVERYONE!
But what will Tom write about? Inspiration strikes when he looks at his excellent collection of ODD OBJECTS and remembers the funny stories behind each one. Starting with Great Great Aunt Aggie’s fake bird hat, the weird stone with a hole and his very special doodle pen.
Marcus wants to write about Tom (which is annoying), Amy’s got a funny poem and Norman’s story is all about… cheese. But Mr Fullerman can only choose the FIVE STAR STORIES – will Tom get his work in on time? And will Granddad read Tom’s story and find out what REALLY happened to Aunt Aggie’s hat? (Spoiler alert – probably)

Our 10 year old granddaughter adores these books

Bought for my daughter who is SEN and is Tom Gates obsessed! Book arrived today in perfect condition and she has read half of it already! She says the story is good but not quite as funny as other Tom Gate books! I don’t know the story but she says it’s good and it kept her entertained for 2 hours after school which is good after nearly a full week at school!!
As always a recommended story by a very clever author!!

My granddaughter, who is just 8years old, particularly likes the different styles and sizes of fonts the book uses on every page. She says it makes it easier to read. The lines are well spaced and there are plenty of drawings to illustrate the plot. The story is narrated by the protagonist, who is a bit of a ‘Just William’ character. She requested these books for her 8th birthday, and I have no doubt will be wanting more for Christmas (one less gift to worry about).

My 8 year old daughter is a huge Tom Gates fan! So she was super excited to get this book on release day! She had it read in a couple of days as she couldn’t put it down and her school class mates were very excited to get the book themselves. We had to buy one for her friend for his birthday as he is a huge Tom Gates fan as well.
Good illustrations and nice size text. She loved it. Good present. Would recommend.
