The market leading transport phenomena text has been revised! Authors, Bird, Stewart and Lightfoot have revised Transport Phenomena to include deeper and more extensive coverage of heat transfer, enlarged discussion of dimensional analysis, a new chapter on flow of polymers, systematic discussions of convective momentum, energy, and mass transport, and transport in two-phase systems.

If this is your first look at Transport Phenomena you’ll quickly learn that its balanced introduction to the subject of transport phenomena is the foundation of its long-standing success.

About the Revised 2nd Edition: Since the appearance of the second edition in 2002, the authors and numerous readers have found a number of errors–some major and some minor. In the Revised 2nd Edition the authors have endeavored to correct these errors. A new ISBN has been assigned to the Revised 2nd Edition in order to more easily identify the most correct version.

This book is THE book for Chemical Engineering Fluid Mechanics and Transport Phenomena. Absolutely excellent. I already knew this book so I decided to buy it with no hesitation.

Everything’s almost good, the book is the second REVISED edition, like declared, only book edges a little bit damaged. Very fast delivery. Competitive price, quite a bargain price for such a book.

Great print quality, and very useful and valuable content at an affordable price!
Arrived quickly and in great condition.

The only downside is that the book has a soft cover, while in the description is says Hardcover.

This was being sold by Foyles for £30 which would be decent if it was the hardback western edition like they are leading you to believe. What actually arrived is the developing economy edition which is paperback and is poor quality, although the same content. Don’t buy this, buy it for half the price elsewhere.

A book for chemical engineers, not for mechanical engineers!!
However I can recommend it for anyone who wants to learn about transport phenomena.
