I’m an adult learner and decided that it was time to move on from Pam Wedgewood’s excellent “Up-grade Piano 0-1” book to the Trinity Grade 1 book. There’s a fairly good variety of pieces here, some more immediately accessable than others. Ben Crossland’s “Hand in Hand” is a nice blues piece that’s easy to get started with; “Jodler” by Uli Gruber takes a little practice but is a lot of fun; and “I’m Happy” has taken me about a month to get close to perfecting. On the other hand, Mike Mower’s “Just for Starters” is a horrible sounding piece! I think this is a sensible level on from Trinity’s “Initial” grade book, although I think I benefitted from playing the pieces from the Up-Grade book before tackling this.

This is the grade 1 book my son’s piano teacher recommended. He’s having a great time with the pieces.
