I really like the choice of performance pieces at this grade. Music scores are well set out with both standard notation and tab. The music tracks are excellent and the performers should be congratulated.
Well worth while getting the app that goes with trinity college publications. Small additional fee is charged for the electronic versions of the tracks but it’s well worth it as the app has an excellent mixing desk like ability to mute individual instruments and to alter the speed and/or pitch of the piece.
Only downside is that my fingers don’t work fast enough to play Riff Raff by AC/DC

Good selection of pieces. Backing tracks are very well made and can be found very easily.

I like that this is challenging me and I really like a lot of the songs in this book.
I have been playing for 1 year exactly, and started with the grade 1 book which I found difficult back then, but now, working through the books, I feel appropriately challenged. I would say I am not a grade 4 player yet, but at grade 3. All good, it is a learning curve.
The only thing I have noticed is that there are some errors in the books – sometimes the tab and the notation isn’t the same so I wouldn’t know which one was correct to play if I decided to sit an exam. There doesn’t seem to be anyone to query this with either, hence one star less.
I really like the Ocean Colour Scene and the Amy Winehouse songs in this so far.
