I had high hopes for this book, but found it really disappointing. It gives a basic guide to the functionality on Linkedin, but very little on actually how to get the most value from it. For example, his advice on writing Articles for LinkedIn, is basically just “don’t write War and Peace”. If you have a query about LinkedIn, you’ll get more (and quicker) by Googling your query.

I’ve been on Linkedin for many years, but like many users, don’t really know the tricks to optimising your profile and getting views and useful connections.
This book gave me some great ideas – it’s set out in different chapters, each with a short summary – so before diving into the chapter you can read the summary and then decide if it’s what you need. Some of the chapters may not be applicable because you have already actioned them.. It takes you from signing up to becoming a premium (paid) member.
I worked on my profile while going through this book, so even if you think you know how Linkedin works, you’ll find you learn something from this book that will help you promote yourself or your business better.
