From Amazon bestseller Pam Howes comes a heartbreaking World War Two novel about a young woman trying to make the best of history’s darkest hour. Is a happy ever after impossible?

Liverpool, 1943. For Bella Rogers, life is looking up. She loves performing with The Bryant Sisters, the singing trio who have become the country’s sweethearts, putting a smile on the faces of the brave boys fighting the Nazis. But then tragedy strikes when a telegram arrives: Bella’s beloved father has been killed in France.

Unlike her poor Mam, Bella has someone to share her grief with. Her childhood love Bobby is home from the war. He lost a leg but she counts her blessings every day that he’s alive when so many young men haven’t made it back. Bella longs to give her heart to Bobby but she is hiding a secret that may change their lives forever. Will he still love her if she reveals the truth?

But when bombs screech down on Victory Street in the middle of the night, blowing houses apart, Bella may lose both the home she loves and the family who mean everything to her. With so much loss around her, will Bella be brave enough to snatch her chance of happiness? And when the war is finally over, will wedding bells ring out on Victory Street again?

An utterly unputdownable, heart-wrenching historical novel that will have you completely hooked from page one. You’ll lose yourself in this gorgeous wartime story of love, loss and family secrets. Perfect for fans of Wives of War, Nadine Dorries and Nancy Revell.

Wedding Bells on Victory Street written by Pam Howes for me was a good read but I felt the first book in the series was a better read.
This book continues from the first book titled The Girls from Victory Street.
The main storyline is based on Bella one of the trio who sings under the name of the Bryant Sisters who are starting to become singers in their own right and are well known throughout the country as the favourite singers of the troops who they entertain wherever and whenever they can.
Bella’s mother Mary is caring for Levi, Bella’s son who she had to an American GI. The second world war is continuing, and the horrors of war are starting to hit the family personally. Bella continues to sing on even though she is parted not only from her son but also from Bobby the true love of her life.
There are also other threats that are hitting Bella and her family, and this is the main storyline. I personally did not enjoy this book as much as the last one as the main storyline was drawn out too much and there was a lack of the same energy which filled the first book.
I would still recommend this as an informative read, and if you want to fully enjoy the series, all the books in order should be read as the storyline continues throughout the books.

This second book is fabulous. It’s great to see how Bella had one with her life and Bobby. The pare love each other.
If you want a new read with lots of turns and watch Molly in trouble this is the book for you.
    Thank you Pam

Reading a Pam Howes book is like being wrapped in a warm cosy blanket and this one is no different. Despite some sadness and heartbreak you just know there’s going to be a happy ending. The Bryant sisters continue to entertain the troops in the UK all the while the bombs continue to rain down but Bella is happy that her mum, sister and baby are more or less safe in Wales. However that comes to an end when they receive sad news from the front line. A lovely, easy to read book and I’m looking forward to the next in the series.

Having read the first book I was keen on hearing the continuing story of Bella and her family.
The book was both heartbreaking and feelgood. An enjoyable read.

I haven’t read any of the other books in this saga, but it doesn’t matter as the story can be a standalone . You get enough background to pick up the story & relationships etc. It is a story of its time and you get the full picture of how people thought & lived during that awful time of year and how their spirit came through. No social media, or even indoor toilets in many cases, how difficult communications were, but people managed & got through.

Loved that Pam includes music connections
Lovely hearing Bella’s and Bobbie’s wishes before they met up again – wondering how it was going to work out – their meet up was so lovely
Hmm what will be the results with what is going on with Freddie, will there be back lashes
Oh Mary’s thought for Levi hmm how is that going go down with Bella
Uh uh now what will happen, with Bella, Bobby and Earl?
Oh Bella and Bobby I am in tears
Uh uh we are now concentrating on Freddie – will he try and get revenge – interesting as we progress and find more information regarding Freddie and connection – now what will happen
57 % in now what trouble is Freddie going to stir up – uhh uhh more trouble brewing – and with Molly
Chapter 17 how were they going get over this – will the perpetrator be discovered
The further I got into it the more gripped I became so didn’t write much
How I loved this book, the changes and progression just gets more and more gripping
    I truly recommend it

Very well researched & written romance story but with the added attraction of historic detail woven into it. There’s extreme, hardship, sadness then happiness told along the way. A real human life story with well described characters. Will highly recommend this to readers.
