The first in a BRAND NEW series from bestselling author Jo Bartlett… Welcome to The Cornish Country Hospital
A new start…
When Danni Carter moves to Cornwall from London, she hopes it will be the fresh start she so desperately needs. She’s nervous, but hopefully the change of scene will help her to finally forget her feelings for Lucas Newman, a man she can never be with, because he’s already engaged to Danni’s best friend, Esther.
An Impossible Dilemma…
But when Lucas and Esther decide to follow Danni to Cornwall, and both announce they will be working with her at the new St Piran’s hospital, Danni is thrown into turmoil again. She can’t lose Esther, but being near Lucas is getting harder to deal with. Will she have to give up her new life before it’s even started?
A chance to start again?
Throwing herself into work, Danni finds herself drawn to new patient, Connie Berrycloth, a woman Danni knows has dark secrets of her own. Secrets that are about to be revealed….
As the two women form a friendship, Danni begins to realise that letting go of her dreams might be the only way of holding on to the people she loves.

Loved it! Couldn’t stop reading it, love how old characters pop up. Really enjoyable and can’t wait for the next installment!

I quite enjoyed some of the Cornish Midwife series, which, despite the books all being quite similar in terms of narrative and characters, had some charm and verve. Unfortunately Welcome to the Cornish Hospital feels like the literary equivalent of a bad episode of a medical soap opera – dull and unconvincing. I think that Jo Bartlett can write fairly well in this genre but her books increasingly feel written to order for a particular market. I skimmed through to the end but felt I had read this all before even down to the language.

Hopefully the start to another hosptial series by this author – I enjoyed the hospital location and the relationships between the various hospital staff. I could see myself returning to this location!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book.
Working at St Piran’s Hospital in A&E Danni is busy. Esther, her best friend is getting married to Lucas, who she has been secretly pining for the past seven years, without anyone knowing about it, especially Esther.
But, now they’re both at the same hospital as her, and with time, she starts to see Lucas for how he really is. Knowing she must tell Esther what she thinks, will her words be believed by her friend? Will Danni be able to stop the wedding from taking place?
The story had plenty of secrets, both kept by patients and the staff.
I highly recommend this book.

I loved everything about this book from this best selling author.
On the Cornish coast of Port Kara, St Piran’s Hospital consultant in A&E Danni Carter is always kept busy, her best friend Esther is marrying Lucas who Danni has been yearning for the past seven years and that secret has to be kept to herself, as time goes on the specialist trauma surgeon at the same hospital as them both, she starts to see him for what he really is a cheater but will her best friend listen? and can Danni stop her from making the biggest mistake of her life.
This book is all about secrets, and there is a lot of them from staff and patients alike that makes this book a superb read right through with lots of emotions entailed in the chapters, it once again an unputdownable story and I loved it.

A start of another great series . Some amazing characters. Some you did not warm too.. Danni had moved to Cornwall to escape her best friends but they followed . It was lovely to have old characters from the midwife series pop up. Some of the medical descriptions were very real. I am struggled to review this without spoiling the story. You have great friends , a very clever but horrid man, parents loss, an old love , new love , a cute baby seal. Jo Bartlett at her best . Read it , you won’t be disappointed

I loved this book the first in this series. New characters but also a catch up of old characters from the Midwife series. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.
