As a morally grey male connoisseur, of course I loved Damiano with his harsh exterior and soft gooey centre. The love he has inside, just bursting to be released, made me melt in a puddle at his feet. Valentina is a boss ass bitch, flipping the bird at her family and their archaic mafia values. She’s determined to step out of the shadows caused by made men, but unable to fight her feelings for Damiano, leaving her conflicted.
Gabrielle Sands is a new author for me, and I really enjoyed my first look into her world. There’s so many twists and turns, as well as little gems for the next two books – hello, Gemma and Ras, I can’t WAIT to read your story. As much as I love them, I find it can be easy to get lost in mafia stories, bogged down by the violence and attempts at plot twists. But there was none of that here – the story was well-written, the characters fully fleshed, and I have to ask, Gabrielle, are you in the mafia, because everything was just so GOOD. ????
I also have to give a major shout to the spice, because it was DELICIOUS. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m booking a flight to Ibiza…

What A refreshing change to a mafia trope! Yes it was dark but not black. It was fun and easy to read and listen to. Touches dark triggers but not into to much detail. I think mafia is my go to read at the moment and this did NOT disappoint. New to me author and I can feel myself getting obsessed already

It started quite promising with a new storyline but all mafia cliches arrived way too soon…
If you are new to the genre it can be ok, but I have read too many mafia books to enjoy this one.
The banter at the beginning was refreshing but as soon as the spice started the fun stopped…
So it could have been better

I tried to read two chapters a day. I failed miserably but I’m glad I did fail as it’s an incredible page turner. Brilliant & devious story line.

Great mafia read. I love a strong heroine. I was really hoping for a cliffhanger, though.
These two were unavoidable, no matter how he thought they weren’t.
I hope we see more of them in the coming books.
