Recently bought this book to learn a bit more about WW1. It brilliantly brings history to life in an engaging and easy to read way. Perfect for teenagers and adults alike. Great addition to the series!

A dark and complex subject simplified into digestible chunks and delivered in balanced, humane way. A real page turner, which brings home the horror or war, whist highlighting some of the “successes’ – individual bravery, technological developments etc. I read as an adult and thoroughly enjoyed, albeit it is targeted at teens. An excellent revision for those who have forgotten (or never really knew), and an equally excellent introduction for the teen reader. Makes you want to delve deeper and the excellent and generous referencing makes this easy.

WW1 for Teens is an ideal introduction and overview of the war. I’ve always found the cause of the war confusing, but Burrows explains it clearly. The book is great for picking up/down with short chapters. It’s also good to have chapters on the political leader, the timeline, battles and then a focus on some of the heroes of the war and what it was really like in the trenches. The Amazing Facts are a great and interesting bonus!
Definitely on my recommended list and would be great for all ages.

I found this book very engaging. It really is suitable for all ages to know the facts of WW2 and how it all started. The “amazing facts” that are sprinkled throughout the book make it particularly interesting.
