For past generations, like my own, this book perfectly evokes what wars mean: nobody wins. In graphic detail it shows the rudeness of that war “to end all wars” Because of this wonderful book, several generations to come will never forget the conflict. Beautifully presented book on good quality paper. A good amount of detailed information with good visual representation to enhance the text and help understanding of many of the key aspects & battles of the great war. The photographs and battle maps are full colour, very detailed and easy to follow. Obviously this is not a definitive text on the subject but has more than enough detail to satisfy most readers – I have many books on WW1 and this is one of the best – it also highlighted many facts that I did not previously know or fully understand their significance in how the war commenced, progressed and played out. Highly recommended in every aspect.
