Heading into a community job after 2 years of neurosurgical nursing on a ward setting so wanted some bits to keep in the car to refer to whilst I learn the ropes. I got the wound care and diabetes books.
They are smaller than I was anticipating but actually a handy size. I’d say if you have bad eyesight they would be too small. Easy to read and look things up quickly with bullet point format, and plenty of useful information ie wound book has pictures, and diabetes has names of insulin.
I’ll be recommending them to colleagues/any student nurses I work with.

Loving this book. It is smaller then I had anticipated but in all it’s actually brilliant. It fits into my scrubs, its not bulky and doesn’t get in the way. It is incredibly informative, valid information and colourful. There are actual photos in the book with the wounds, it’s very descriptive. In a moment where your mind goes blank, you can just reach into your pocket and get this book out. Brilliant stuff.

This book is just the right size to fit in the pocket of my uniform! I previously used this book as a student nurse on my community placement and have just brought it for when I start my new job. It is a good reference guide to describing the look of wounds and for identifying what types of dressing to use based on what the wound looks like. Has a very good section on pressure area care too!

Handy to have in my pocket at work, I like the fact it has pictures and up to date dressing advice, gives good explanations of different wound types and what to look out for.
