From BookTok sensation Emily McIntire comes a dark and delicious fractured fairy tale reimagining of The Wizard of Oz.
A woman can be great, and terrible too.
Evelina Westerly has always been the bad guy. As the brains, brawn, and botanist behind her family’s drug empire, she’s her father’s ruthless secret weapon. With her days divided between perfecting her greenhouse, seeking revenge for her sister’s murder, and putting a gun to the head of anyone in her way, Evelina doesn’t have time for anything else. Especially not for love. After a one-night stand with a gorgeous man at a nightclub, she’s sated her urges and is back to her criminal ways. That is, until that same man shows up as the new Westerly lackey…under a totally different name.
But Nicholas Woodsworth’s real secret is much more dangerous than an alias. He’s an undercover DEA agent, and he’s hell-bent on destroying the drug trade that devastated his family. When he realizes the youngest daughter of the Westerly empire is the same woman he’s been fantasizing about since that night at the club, attraction wars violently with disgust. Evelina embodies everything he’s against, and he’s been sent here to be her downfall. Yet the more they learn about the darkness in each other’s hearts, the more alike they seem, and when hatred turns to something more, Nicholas will have to decide whether he can love a wretched woman, even if it means bringing both of their lives to ruin.

Okay so the wizard of oz is one of my ALL TIME favourite films, so this one was a perfect read for me, this was definitely one of my favourites in the series so far. These books just keep giving and giving.
I would so much rather read bad girl x good guy, I get so into books like this.
The way she tells him what to do brought me to my knees, I was living for it.
Emily has honestly become such an auto buy author for me. I am in love with her writing style, I can’t wait to explore her works outside of the series at some point, I need ALL her books.
I cannot wait to get into twisted and then crossed ????

When I grow up, I want to be like Evelina Westerly!!
This book starts off with a bang literally against the bathroon wall ???? and then it’s all go to the last page!!
Everlina is the daughter of a mob boss, and Nicholas (Brayden) is the DEA agent who is sent in to bring the crime family down!
Nick and Evelina have the most sizzling chemistry right from the get-go, and they give into it as often as they can.
I really enjoyed the story. Nick was so swoony, always reciting poetry to Evelina ???? even though he swore he didn’t know how to be romantic!!
Another great addition to the never after series, and I can wait to dive into the rest of the books.

It’s was a good book, not really a dark romance but good enough, I use books asan escape for just a while, an I did just for a while.

I enjoyed reading Wretched because the tale is original and well-paced, making it quite engaging. The characters are complex, with the FMC being the morally grey one for a change. The plot twists and dark topics in this book had me engrossed and invested in world Emily created. Overall, it’s a well-written book with a new take on the Wizard of Oz.

I must say, this didn’t click with me the way Hooked and Scarred did. But I did prefer the ending compared to Hooked. Scarred will still be my number 1 so far though!
I loved it being a female baddie this time! And I always enjoy when a bad FMC corrupts a good MMC. Although deep down, Nick definitely had his darkness.
My main challenge with this one is how quickly it escalated between Evie and Nick. It’s like they hooked up twice and were in love and I just didn’t buy it as much as I did with the couple in the other two books.
