Ari, a free-spirited struggling comedian, likes to keep things casual, and never sleeps over after hooking up. Josh, born-and-bred Manhattanite, has ambitious plans to take the culinary world by storm, to find The One and live happily-ever-after.
After a confrontational first meeting (at the apartment of the woman they are both sleeping with), Ari and Josh never expect their paths to cross again, but years later, as they’re both reeling from ego-bruising breakups, a chance encounter leads to a surprising connection: friendship. Turns out, spending time with your former nemesis can be fun when you’re both too sad and miserable to hate each other.
And as odd as it seems, they become friends-without-benefits, finding comfort in late night Netflix binges, swiping through each other’s online dating profiles, and bickering endlessly on their phones across boroughs. It’s better than romance. Until one night, the unspoken boundaries of their platonic relationship begin to blur…
With sharp observations and sizzling chemistry, YOU, AGAIN explores the dynamics of co-ed friendship in this sparkling romantic comedy of modern love in all its forms.

Great slow burn story, with so many funny moments, left me grinning like an idiot so bad that my husband kept asking what I was smiling at.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this book. I could barely put it down. Ari is a truly free spirited and sex positive, but struggling comedian, who doesn’t look for ‘the one’. Josh is a no nonsense chef who wants to revolutionize the culinary world and find his soul mate. Their first meetings always end up in disaster and arguments, but fate seems to bring them into each other’s lives and force them to interact. As you would expect, they become friends and learn how to read each other and be there when the other hurts. Their friendship slowly morphs into love, but this is something Ari cannot cope with. Relationships can lead to heartbreak and this is not something she can put herself through again. Or can she? I loved the flow of this book, their banter, the strong friendships and the determination of the characters. I also liked how much each character seemed to care for their friends and their partners. A great read.

We meet Ari, a struggling comedian, and Josh a chief.
They first meet when josh happens to be Ari’s roomates “boyfriend”, and he comes over to prepare a meal for them.
Ari and Josh didn’t get on at all!.
Years later, after everyone has moved on with their lives, Josh and Ari happen to bump into each other. Feelings haven’t really changed, until they both find out they are both going through break ups. Ari and Josh are slowly becoming more friendly in helping each other get through tough times.
Suddenly things become to spark between them both…..
Ari…..I loved her!! She has absolutely no filter, she was hilarious. Especially with how uncomfortable it made Josh.
I highly recommend this one.
You’ll get lots of laughs aswell as a blossoming relationship.
Thank you @randomthingstours for our spot on this tour.

I couldn’t get enough of this (and simultaneously felt very old reading it….)
In this ‘so slow it goes into reverse’ friends to lovers story, Ari and Josh first meet when Josh comes to her apartment to cook her roommate dinner. They get off to a bad start; and then again months later when Josh is working in a restaurant with one of Ari’s best friends, and treats her appallingly. They couldn’t be more opposite if they tried, Josh’s boy next door image clashing against Ari’s devil-may-care approach to life.
At their third chance meeting, things go a bit better between them and slowly the two get closer and start to become more important. You’re willing them to get together whilst feeling that it might be a Very Bad Idea indeed.
The story is told from both their perspectives and you can taste the frustration and tension between the two of them. They are funny, entertaining, full of life and real emotion – and when the moment finally arrives, its well worth waiting for
A well deserved 4 stars

No fictional male character holds an ember, let alone a flame, to Josh’s character arc. He was a pretentious prick at the start. But he’s my pretentious prick that has a labrador heart.
This was such an emotional rollercoaster… I laughed. I cried. I sobbed. I inwardly smiled. I raged.
Kate Goldbeck’s You, Again is a masterpiece in character development, pacing, angst, back-and-forth banter, and overall swoon-worthy romance that takes a real look at how modern romance can be nurtured into something that keeps you hooked until you read the last page, or your eyes are raw from trying. AND this is a debut novel. A DEBUT

“Maybe being in love is knowing that you’d live it all over again – every part, suffering included – to get right back to the place where you’re standing.”
When you pair a commitment-phobe and a hopeless romantic, you are going to get some pretty interesting results. Cue Ari and Josh, two people who don’t agree on all levels. After years of running into each other, including an initial meeting where they discover rhey are seeing the same woman, with disastrous interactions and a multitude of nicknames (mainly from Ari); two life implosions result in them becoming the unlikeliest of friends. But is there something more to their relationship?
This book was a fun, fresh take on an enemies to friends without benefits to lovers and the growth of both characters was so interesting to read. On the one hand, you have Ari, an abrasive commitment-phobe who is incredibly sex positive, who is trying to make a career as a comedian work. On the other you have Josh, who wants to succeed as a chef, whilst finding the one and settle down, but is too focused on checking off his expectations list for his life. Instead of insta-love, these characters experience Insta-hate, spanning multiple years worth of chance encounters.
It takes breakups, life implosions and a loss of faith in themselves to connect these two unlikely friends and their bond of sadness allows them to form a friendship of understanding and no judgement. It is through this friendship that we see this deep, raw emotional growth in both characters. But it is the wit, sarcasm and humour that is interwoven throughout this book that kept the story light, despite the highly emotionally charged moments that the characters experience. I definitely had moments where I laughed out loud.
If you love the classic enemies to lovers trope, but want to see it elevated, with a fresh twist and similarities to When Harry Met Sally, this is a book you should definitely check out!
