This is something I return to all the time. I bought a second copy for my Mom.
For me, I use it as inspiration. I way to try and hear what might be going on for me. I don’t need the connection between mind and body to be scientifically proven for the ideas to be insightful and helpful. I even experimented once and went to the doctors about an ailment only to be told there was nothing he could do and he just said take an aspirin. I felt this gave me a chance to focus on the mind connection as I had been given no other options. Needless to say the pain quickly went away and wether this was from the passage of time or because of the insight I had gained I don’t care. It made me feel better.

Fascinating! Like a bible for the body. The only thing I did feel was missing was how trauma can effect the body was allot of talk about stress but not to much on that which I found surprising and disappointing

One of the best books I’ve read on the mind-body connection and illness. It’s very well written with concepts described and explained in full, allowing you to view the body in a very different way compared to the mainstream ideas. There is so much to take away from this book, would definitely recommend to anyone interested in learning more about the energetic and emotional causes behind illness.

Once in a while you find a book that just resonates and this is most certainly one. Chunky and comprehensive with a wonderful mixture of information, case studies (just enough to really help clarify the information but not overload) and exercises to help you connect to and begin to understand your own body. The reason I have only given four stars is because this book did not come with the accompanying CD’s and I’m having a difficult time getting hold of them. However, just as a stand alone this is still a brilliant, insightful book. Would highly recommend to anyone dealing with illness or working in the caring professions. This is the way forward.

I loved all of this book very good info, written in simplistic terms so we can easily draw the wisdom about ourselves from the past experiences and how it may effect the body it allows us to explore ourselves deeper within and look and find HOW we are impacted by every day life. where and how illnesses occur especially in our younger life and how this effects us emotionally mentally and physically into the future. it would be good if all Doctors Physicians and Healers and Therapists read this book and others of similarity to enhance us all back into balance and health. no Doctor, Physician, Healer, Therapist, is exempt from getting and being ill. In this book you can draw your own insights, good luck.

Not a lot of people realise that their physical problems start with mental thoughts and worries. I bought Deb Shapiro’s original and have now updated to her latest book. I use the information to help Patients of mine who do not understand how they have become unwell. I do remedial massage and each person who comes in for treatment with, say a shoulder problem, I am able to suggest that they are shouldering too much responsibility. A hip problem might suggest that they are burdened and have a fear of loosing what makes them feel secure. This book is a must have to help everyone change their thoughts and their lives to improve their health. Daphne M. Shutler A.I.P.T.I.

If you’re interested in the metaphysical meaning of organs this is one of the best books I’ve come across.
